That analytical shift has reshaped roster construction, pushing teams to prioritize floor spacing and perimeter shooting even at traditionally interior positions.
Traditional back-to-the-basket centers, once a roster cornerstone, have become considerably rarer at the highest level, replaced by bigs who can stretch the floor from three-point range or facilitate offense from the top of the key, a shift that has fundamentally changed what teams look for when evaluating young big-man prospects.
