The Sand Gecko is an innovative
tool designed to evaluate the integrity of acoustic transducers, identifying
units that have failed or show critical signs of wear. Unlike standard Acoustic
Sand Monitoring (ASM) which might produce inconsistent results influenced by
factors like sandpaper type, applied force, sensor distance, and surface
coatings – the Sand Gecko provides fast, consistent, and accurate readings in
just five minutes. This solution eliminates ambiguity, giving clients full
confidence in the condition of their sensors.
This marks a significant
advancement over traditional methods, and directly addresses common industry
concerns,” says Andrew Kinsler, SMS Operations Director. “With this
solution, we aim to provide a clear benchmark to indicate transducer
performance. Beyond a simple pass or fail, we deliver a detailed analysis that
adds insight and value, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of sensor
health.”
